More than Ready!

Well were off to the camper for 6 days starting tomorrow, so I will be blog-less.

Really in need of the time - just about too tired to care.

Hope all have a great weekend.

The memories of yesteryear

Thank you all for your comments! I love the fact that we seem to all go back to different cars in our past. The memories that a simple comment can evoke.

My first vehicle was a soft top jeep CJ-5. The thing rusted out beneath me (literally!) First the window wiper box rusted off the windshield and I manually had to move the box back and forth to make the wipers work. When dad eventually found out he replaced the windshield.

Than the area around the ashtray rusted (dad smoked) and one morning I turned the corner and got dirty wet ashtray of water slopped onto my wool knee socks (private school uniforms) and walked around disgusted by the ick that was my sock.

Than the floorboard under my feet rusted away. I was careful where I stepped to get into the vehicle so I didn't step through it.

Why did I put up with all this? Cause wheels I didn't have to pay for and were available completely to me wasn't to be sneered at. Without them I might have been grounded to the house, have to buy my own or worse yet await my parents!

Happy Memories :)

Now that I don't have to

I find that I don't have much to say. Does that make sense.

30/30 forced me to post which turned into some days just chatting about what was going on in life.

Truth be told -- not much happens in my life. I'm a mom. I work. Life happens. I spend money. Hence, why I work.

Newest thing in today's world? I started looking at new cars (remember the spending money part). Lissa turns 16 in April and sometime between now and than I have to purchase an additional car. I do not want to be forced into purchasing the first thing I see at whatever the current price is. Sooooo I am shopping to see what I want and to know when its a good price or good deal (come back 0% financing!).

So far the "Cobalt" is in the lead -- but that's only 2 dealerships and 4 cars.

Monday

Well, I finally broke down, ordered the mulch and 3 1/2 hours later -- ta da... no grass. Yes I know a pic would be nice but that will have to come, as its dark and I haven't found the camera yet. Of course, it would have to be 93 degree today.

I am back to work tomorrow. Promise I will have pics soon.

Finished the BSJ (except stitching and buttons, but done enough to be off the needles... will worry about finishing when I have a baby to give it to).

Finished Lissa's socks. Raven by BMFA, October 2007.

Continuing on the "Vintage, wanted to get a few things finished so they've been resting.

That's about all. Back to work for 3 and than off for a spell. Our community Art/Street Fair is this weekend and than its off to the camper for some relaxation.

Happy Birthday To Me

Yes today is my B-day and the last post of my 30/30.

Not a whole lot planned for today - I have a massage this afternoon and than meeting the girls tonight at the yarn shop to share a bottle of wine. Other than that I'm only doing what I want.

I didn't hit 30/30 - total of 27 which I'm happy with all in all. Have really enjoyed the push to get back into the habit. Probably won't continue to post everyday as there were some days I was scraping the barrel to come up with material. However, I hope to continue with more than 1-2 posts a month.

Anyways...

Happy Day to All
Happy Forth of July
Enjoy your weekend and I'll catch you next as I go back to work tomorrow.

Wishy Washy

You know how sometimes you think "wow, what a great idea!"

And then the thought of how much work it is so overwhelms the positives that you think "forget it"

That was the train of thought with my backyard.

Mom said "Get mulch delivered - its cheaper and we'll do the whole area at once.

Than it was in the 90's and high humidity - who wants to work in that.

Than it rained for weeks straight.

Than I looked at what a mess my backyard is... and if I did the mulch thing, how long could it take? One, Two days? And the whole area would look so much better for me to enjoy until Oct ish.

I checked on mulch today. Didn't order it yet --- but definitely one step closer to satisfaction.

We'll see......
