As Summer Comes To A Close

I realize that by the calendar summer isn't over, however, to me when the kids head back to school, fall is here.

I love my children. I love spending time with them... I just wish it wasn't 3 months long. That is too much togetherness with anyone. I have been looking forward to them heading back to school, but now that it is here, I am going to miss them.

My little girl is no longer a little girl.

She's starting HS and this marks both the end of her childhood (for me) and the beginning of something new, scary (God I remember HS) and wonderful.

Deep breath, let time march on.

I totally agree with you about three months being too long. It doesn't matter how much you love someone, after a certain amount of time you'll still want to strangle them!
Your daughter is beautifull by the way! Wish her good luck in HS for me!

What a poignant entry. I too was driven a little crazy by the end of the summer (as was Ella), but the first day of school (for us, tomorrow) is so both heartrending and exciting. For me to hear of your daughter entering high school, and my daughter entering first grade, makes me know more than ever how fleeting it all is...thanks for your entry--it resonated with me totally.

p.s. Karrie, I got the Cat B book actually, and can't wait to try the technique--thanks!--Leah

p.p.s. just ONE more comment: I just wanted to tell you how much Ella loved getting her very own comment to her blog post! It was so sweet.

Also, wanted to tell you that the International Scarf Exchange 5 is now open for folks to sign up--I did ISE4 and am now doing ISE5 and recommend it as SO much fun. I know neither of us has much time for such things (hence, "too little time"!!), but it is a scarf, which is a pretty limited project. Anyway, if you're interested, go to http://ise5.blogspot.com and check it out--Leah
