Tripping thru my blog roll I saw this posted on Tracy'shttp://neverendingmind.blogspot.com/
blog.
Upon taking the 10 question quiz, I find that:
"You Belong in 1950 : You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!
This was no surprise and if asked I would have said that's when I would have liked to live.
Anyways, to try for yourself: Yearhttp://www.blogthings.com/whatyeardoyoubelonginquiz/

A little bit of.....
This was listed on Amy's blog
If you can’t get rid of the skeleton[s] in your closet, embrace them!
I love it, because whoever doesn't have skeletons is lying. And the only way to let go of them is to accept and move on.

Thankful Thursday - For A Very Good Friend
This Thursday is dedicated to my friend Tiffany.
We have been friends now for over 10 years. Our friendship began the day I accosted her on the street (in front of my house) with a "don't our girls go to preschool together".
Our friendship has weathered blizzards to visit Walmart (what else are you to do on a snowy day with 4 kids)..... pea soup fog coming back from Shipshawana (that's in Indiana... I think), broken hearts (ours and the girls), 4 college degrees, vomiting children (that was a grocery store visit I would rather forget), and untold other "adventures".
Tiffany is a good sport and avid "along for the ride" type of gal. She doesn't knit but does tag along rather well. She has learned that knitty friends will knit for you if you buy the yarn and sometimes will even buy the yarn too (any excuse for yarn buying is a good excuse).
I have not convinced Tiff that she needs to knit ...... yet. I have high hopes that once she's finished with nursing school she will despair of filling all those extra hours and need to take up knitting. I keep making good arguments and she does enjoy feeling the wool.
Anyways, we had another yarn adventure today. I picked up some pink Lorna's Laces worsted weight for my ISE 6 pal. Some charcoal and maroon for a felted purse (for Tiff) and some pretty pink/green Panda for summer socks. I better get knitting!!!!

Catch Up
Well, I've been saying I would post about my yarn crawl and haven't gotten around to it. Not that I didn't have and ABSOLUTE BALL - but the idea of unpacking all that stuff, taking pics and than putting it all away again is blucky!
So, please pardon the absence of pics right now and I will reference when I get around to taking them.
The Yarn Crawl -- we had such a good time. I had way over planned (7 yarn shops) but I wanted to be completely prepared. We actually made 4 of them leaving the last 3 to do on another day as they are clustered together and closer than Lansing.
We started at Threadbear - OH MY what a store. Its housed in a non-discript strip mall but the inside is amazingly filled with yarn and fiber. Stephanie (who told me about it) has pics here. I purchased some beautiful beige/tan fiber to make Christmas presents (mittens with the fiber threaded into the knitting so its warm and furry on the inside) from this book. (are you impressed I finally have this linky thing down).
I also purchased sock yarn and yarn to make a felted bag for both my mom and s-i-l for Xmas. Have started the s-i-l bag, but am a little bored currently so I'm working on socks - no none that I was suppose to -- another pair out of yarn I received from Paula in our scavenger hunt exchange.
Anyways, then we went to the "Little Red Schoolhouse" (I think that's what it was called) - That will be permanently removed from the list - blah =(
On to Rae's Yarn Boutique. This was OK. Small store not a whole lot. Its cool though when you are coming down the street the State Capitol is directly in front of you. Anyways, near Rae's right by the RR tracks is a very cool restaurant - housed in the old train depot. Food was good.
From there we went to our last stop (and sorry I cannot recall the name currently... if your headed to Lansing let me know and I'll find it). Anyways, this was right down near the MSU dorms. What a cool place!!! -- It is small, but the owner dies her own fiber along with commericaly produced fiber. I purchased some cotton lace weight (700 yrd for $15) which I am working on a plain rectangular shaw and a couple of other cool skeins. I also saw kuivit (is that right?, buffalo fur) for the first time and at $60 a tiny skein that's the closest I will get to it let me tell you.
Anyways, fun time was had. Can't wait to go back once I refluff the coffers. Nice day trip with some excellent shopping opportunities.
On another note - drove by the new yarn store (no I am not a stalker... yet). They have no opening date posted, however, there were some bags with yarn skeins resting on some of the shelving. Definitely a positive sign.
Chat soon =) K

Some Suggestions Needed
I have all these leftover bits of yarn from various projects (especially the sock variety) and I don't know what to do with them.
Danielle has made some very cute cupcakes, but then I would have to store them - not happening.
And I realize that I could combine the sock yarn with regular worsted weight and knit the two along together, but the sock yarn seems to get lost and doesn't show.
I also realize I could make patterned socks of different yarns -- but.... not excited.
So, any suggestions - yes I realize I'm being picky. However, many minds are better than one.

Thankful Thursday - a little late
In honor of my friend Tricia...
Thank You Father that Geoffrey's testing all came out positive.
If we take a moment and think about it -- we have so many things to be Thankful for.
Count your blessings, say a prayer and smile.
