Too Many Projects

My mother has decided to inform me that I have too many projects "in process" and this is why I feel nothing gets done (I hate it when mothers are right!). SO we are in the project completion or complete as far as I can phase. First is the kitchen. I started painting it this winter and have 1-1/2 walls done with the 1/2 wall needed only a second coat of paint. Than I picked up some wallpaper (wanted bead-board but too $$ right now) that looks like bead board. We are attempting to hang that Wed. This will at least have the walls looking clean and finished. After my June visitors leave, we are going to rip out the kitchen carpeting (yes carpeting, green, 70's UGLY)... but that has to wait a little.

Than on to the backyard. We finished laying the 11 patio blocks to complete last years project and were going to cover more grass with mulch to eliminate additional grass. This should decrease the mowing in the back by 1/3. Will post pictures upon project completion.

Good luck on finishing all of your projects. I'm one who will go at a project head on but when I have to stop nine million times to get someone milk, or change a diaper, I lose interest on the project and save it for another day, next year sometime!

I love finishing projects! It makes me feel calmer. I'm on my way to plant some plants so I can post my garden FO soon--a pottager is a non-formal kitchen garden with elements of formlity. Mine has perennial borders, a tea bed, an herb bed, veggie spot, a cherry tree, and raised beds mixed in. I'm hoping to be able to maintain it this summer (it's 50 x 25) so it looks beautiful by next summer when the borders grow in. On my way now to decide what perennials should go where! Then I have to water, water, water. Note to self: replace the sprinkler you broke 3 days ago. I'd love to meet up sometime!

We're also in the midst of assessing our house for all kinds of needed upgrades...it's so overwhelming. We did paint and paper, though. It made a huge difference once the rather grubby walls were freshened up! I laughed about your comment on your kitchen carpet. My friend had brown wall-to-wall in her kitchen!!! Our kitchen floor is covered in horrid grooved grey rubber, impossible to clean. But it is a large kitchen, and redoing it in that wood laminate stuff will be SUCH a project. "Too Many Projects"--perfect expression of my life...
